Climate Change Wine Tastings

Grapes are known as the “canary in the coal mine” of climate change because of their extreme sensitivity to changes in precipitation, soil, temperature, and other environmental factors.

Some of the wines we know and love are currently experiencing these challenges, endangering yields and quality. However, new varietals are also emerging as regions that formerly were unsuitable for growing wine grapes warm and change.

Our Climate Change Wine Tastings take participants through a series of wines–some that are in danger of extinction and some that are emerging. We talk through the challenges grapes are facing amid climate change, as well as how AI-driven insights can help growers and producers mitigate some of the risks and negative effects.
